Terms of Service

1. Agreement and operator

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Humidibee website and humidity-automation service at humidibee.ca (the "Service"). Humidibee is operated from Manitoba, Canada. By registering an account and selecting the Terms acceptance checkbox, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not register for or use the Service.

You must have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement and be authorized to access and manage any Ecobee thermostat you connect.

2. What Humidibee does

When you enable Automatic Control for a connected, supported thermostat, Humidibee periodically reads available information from Ecobee, including outdoor temperature, equipment capabilities, connection state and humidity settings. Based on your saved temperature bands and selected check interval, it may send an updated humidity target to Ecobee.

Ecobee and the heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying or ventilation equipment connected to it remain responsible for their own operation. Humidibee does not physically operate that equipment or verify its condition. Equipment compatibility, available Ecobee controls, automation frequency and safety restrictions vary by thermostat configuration.

3. Important limitations and safety

Humidibee is a convenience tool, not a safety, environmental-monitoring or professional HVAC service. It does not guarantee a particular indoor humidity, temperature, comfort level, energy saving or equipment operating outcome. Outdoor weather data and Ecobee information can be delayed, incomplete or incorrect; internet service, Ecobee availability or equipment faults can interrupt adjustments.

Inappropriate humidity can contribute to condensation, window frost, mould, moisture damage or other problems. You are responsible for choosing suitable settings for your building and climate, monitoring actual indoor conditions and keeping your HVAC equipment maintained. If you are uncertain about appropriate settings, consult a qualified HVAC professional.

Humidibee may skip an adjustment, decline an unsupported setting or limit automation to reduce potential conflicts with equipment operation. These safeguards are not a guarantee against every equipment or configuration problem. You can turn Automatic Control OFF and adjust settings directly in Ecobee at any time.

4. Ecobee and third-party services

To use thermostat features, you must authorize Humidibee to access the applicable Ecobee account. Ecobee's own terms, availability, permissions and technical limitations apply. Ecobee may change its interface, API or supported functions; these changes may affect or interrupt Humidibee. Humidibee is an independent service and is not presented as endorsed by Ecobee.

You are responsible for maintaining your Ecobee account, internet connectivity and suitable thermostat settings. You may disconnect Humidibee's access through the available controls or through your Ecobee account.

5. Your account and acceptable use

Provide accurate registration information, verify your email address, protect your password and notify us if you suspect unauthorized account access. Do not access thermostats without permission, interfere with the Service or attempt to bypass access controls or service restrictions. We may restrict or suspend an account when reasonably necessary to protect security, users or the Service.

6. Free access, trials and paid subscriptions

Humidibee may offer a free plan, temporary complimentary Premium access and optional paid subscription plans. Current plan features, check intervals, prices and any promotional end date are shown on the website. Check intervals describe how often the Service aims to check, not a guaranteed execution time.

Creating an account or using complimentary access does not automatically start a paid subscription. You must separately choose and approve a paid plan through the offered checkout process. Where applicable, PayPal processes recurring subscription payments according to the terms and billing information presented at checkout. Prices may be shown in U.S. dollars.

When complimentary access ends, your available features and check frequency may change to those provided by your applicable plan. You can review or manage an existing subscription through the account tools. Cancellation, billing periods, renewal and any refunds are governed by the checkout terms and applicable law; cancelling a subscription does not necessarily end access before an already-paid period expires.

7. Changes and availability

We may maintain, fix, update, suspend or discontinue features as the Service evolves. We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant changes where practical and provide any notice required by law. We do not promise continuous or error-free availability or that a particular third-party integration will always remain supported.

8. Disclaimers and responsibility

The Service is provided on an "as available" basis. To the extent permitted by applicable law, we do not provide warranties that it will be uninterrupted, suitable for every building or HVAC installation, or free from all errors. You remain responsible for supervising your property, humidity settings and equipment.

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Humidibee is not responsible for losses resulting from inaccurate data, unsupported equipment, interrupted connectivity or reliance on the Service as a safety system. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any consumer protection, statutory warranty, liability or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms as the Service changes. The effective date and version shown above identify this published version. Where required by applicable law, we will provide notice or request a new acceptance before revised terms apply.

10. Applicable law and contact

These Terms are interpreted under the laws applicable in Manitoba, Canada, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you in your place of residence.
