1. Who we are

Humidibee is an independently operated humidity-automation service based in Manitoba, Canada. This policy explains what information we need to run humidibee.ca, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we use

We collect or receive only the information reasonably needed to provide and support the service, which may include:

• Account information: your email address, password hash, verification status, account preferences, and acceptance of our Terms of Service.
• Ecobee connection and thermostat information: linked thermostat identifiers and names, connection authorizations, equipment capabilities, thermostat status, humidity settings, outdoor temperature data, and the humidity preferences you save.
• Service records: automation activity, connection and notification status, technical errors, and messages you send us for support.
• Subscription information, if you choose a paid plan: plan, subscription status, payment references, and billing dates needed to manage access. Payment details are handled by PayPal, not entered into Humidibee.
• Basic website and security information: essential login/session cookies and technical records such as IP addresses or error logs needed to keep the website working and secure.

You do not need to provide a mailing address or credit card number to create a Humidibee account.

3. Why we use it

We use this information to sign you in, verify your account, connect to Ecobee at your request, read thermostat conditions, apply the humidity settings you choose, provide status and service notifications, respond to support requests, protect the website, and administer an optional subscription.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, sell customer lists, or send promotional email campaigns.

4. Third-party services — not marketing partners

We have no arrangements to sell or provide customer information to advertisers, data brokers, or marketing partners. However, a few outside services are necessary to operate Humidibee:

• Ecobee: when you authorize the connection, Humidibee exchanges the thermostat information and commands needed for the features you enable. Ecobee's Privacy Notice also applies to your Ecobee account.
• PayPal: if you voluntarily purchase a subscription, PayPal handles payment processing and provides Humidibee with the payment or subscription information needed to administer your plan. PayPal's Privacy Statement applies to its services.
• Website hosting and email delivery: these providers may process limited technical or contact information to host the website, protect it, and deliver requested or necessary service messages.

These are service providers and integrations, not advertising partnerships. Some processing may take place outside Canada under the applicable providers' practices. We may also disclose information if legally required.

5. Emails and cookies

Humidibee does not send marketing emails. We may email you about account verification, password or connection problems, changes to your humidity settings when notifications are enabled, important service issues, and subscription matters. Some notification preferences can be changed in your account settings; essential account or security messages may still be sent.

We use cookies needed for account sessions and website security. We do not use your Humidibee account information for targeted advertising.

6. Security and retention

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information. Account passwords are stored as password hashes, and Ecobee authorization tokens are stored in encrypted form. No online service can promise perfect security.

We keep information while it is needed to operate your account and provide the service. If your account is deleted, associated records are removed from active account systems where applicable. Limited information may remain temporarily in backups, security or support records, or financial records when retention is reasonably necessary or required by law.

7. Your choices and privacy requests

You can turn off automatic humidity control, disconnect Ecobee, adjust notification preferences, or request account deletion. You can also contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you or request a correction or deletion, subject to applicable legal requirements.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy if Humidibee's features or information practices change. The effective date above will be updated, and we will provide any additional notice or request consent where required by law.
